Has everybody heard about the new musical "Spamelot" based on Monty Python? Starring David Hyde-Pierce, Hank Azaria, and Tim Curry?

Thanks, Lisa & Kelsey, Kasi says hi and appreciates your well wishes. Can't wait to introduce you guys to her, maybe sometime this summer. As far as Harold and Maude goes, the music is a fantastic contribution to the movie, but personally, I'm a huge fan of the movie, and think that while it will lack something without the music, it's still a terrific story in the Wes Anderson (Rushmore, Royal Tenenbaums) style vein, and it might not suck. Nate, you'll have to take me fishin when we get down there, and Kel, break a leg on your auditions, I'm sure you'll do well. Best regards to all, hope to see some of you soon.

We cut through metal last night with super heated acetylene gas! It was a lot of fun! Dan are you enjoying your welding class? Just think of Ed Saindon as you weld and try not to laugh to hard.
Rock on!!!

Hello from freaking freezing Chicago!
I thought I remembered hating Chicago in the winter, but several months in Texas made me forget. Lorna, take Rock Springs, drop the temperature below zero, and have the same amount of wind come in off of a frozen Lake Michigan. brrrrrr. However my mother sent me life-altering earmuffs for Christmas.
Life here has been good. Auditions are starting up again, and I'm interested in a few of them. Most of my energy lately has been focused on the URTA auditions coming up in two weeks. I hired a coach from the audition studio, and he's been a great help. It's nice to have a one-on-one, outside view of your work. Those college kids don't know how good they've got it.
Other than that I'm trying to keep busy and find creative outlets any way I can. I built a collage on my entire wall the other day....how very sad. :)
I'm glad to see all of you are doing well. Zack, it has been too long!! Take care of yourselfs. You are never very far from my mind.
love,
Kelsey

Hey Dan sounds exciting. I take it the production team is not buying into that "less is more"
philosophy for this one. Send the pictures and I will put them on the web site that I created for you. http://www.wwcc.cc.wy.us/pwsmith/alumni/danm/designwork.htm Billy

Hey all, it's Dan in Ohio. I'm taking a welding class too Billy. You, Nate and I should get together and have a study group on shielded metal arc or metal inert gas welding. Sewing metal with fire is cool. I'm designing the big show this quarter: "Two Planks and a Passion." It's got 9 different settings and 13 scene changes. We're building two two story rotating platforms and some 24' high tracking walls among other things. I'll send you pictures as things go up.

That is so great about the "safety saint" Billy. It doesn't get more post-modern than combining the likes of oxyacetyline welding and Bob Marley! In other matters somebody thought it would be a good idea to make a Broadway musical based on the movie" Harold and Maude" (without Cat Stevens' music, hello?). They were horribly wrong, it was not a good idea and lets hope it closes within the week. I know there are some WWC people that will get how truly wrong that is (especially you Bliss I almost emailed you the second I read it in the NY Times because I knew you would be appropriately appauled). And in still other matters, a thousand congratulations to Zach Schrotter on his engagement to Kasi! -----Lisa

WooHoo! Nate and I started our welding class this week. Oh, Lisa, by the way, your "safety saint" is being hung in the shop - so your work is immortalized. Billy

Hey Nate! Congrats on the Texas licenses! Sounds like you're having a good ol' time down there.
I'm back in balmy New York where it got up to 60 degrees yesterday compared to the inches of snow and freezing cold I got while home in Idaho for the break. School starts up again for me on Tuesday and then it's back to the big fat books.
Hope everyone's New Year is off to a good start!
Casey

Hi Rene, That's great news. Please send me an email at: wsmith@cisco.cc.tx.us and I will send you my physical address. I don't like to put too much personal information on the blog for all of those cereal killers that don't like bran flakes like me. I look forward to hearing from you. Billy

~Nate Dogg - I am learning the mandolin too!! Guess this means I gotta make it down there so we can hit all the wrongs notes together!!!~ Lorna~
Afternoon everyone...hope your holidays went well, Dallas' weather has been up and down (20 degrees this morning, 60 degrees by afternoon) but other than a lil rain not bad...Ok, since christmas eve, I've moved into a new apartment, set up a new computer, had my car die on me, bought a new vehicle ('04 Toyota Matrix-diggin' it) and gotten engaged...needless to say, I haven't slept in 2 weeks, and am now too poor to even pay attention...why does this seem so awfully familiar? Oh, right, scenographics class just before finals, minus the hawaiian punch. Anyway, I've set myself on a poetry writing assignment and am off to finish a new one before hitting the poetry slam night in Dallas. Peace to y'all, and we'll catch ya soon.

I wish everyone a Happy New Year. Colleen traded in her green Trailblazer for a white Volkswagen Pasat. She is happy now that she is getting 40 miles per gallon. The rye and wheat are coming up in the south pasture and life is good. The cows are happy and the new little kitties are living under the house. Nate is going to start playing the mandolin, so I'm sure we will be playing happy tunes very soon. Love to all. Billy
