Konnichiwa!!!
Zach in Dallas here. If anyone has the ability, come check out me and the Dallas Poetry Slam team in competition this weekend in Austin. Friday night (July 1) we'll be at Ruta Maya @ 3601 S. Congress. Doors open at 6:30pm. If we make it past the prelims, we'll compete Saturday in Ego's @ 501 S. Congress starting @ 7:30pm. That's on the ground floor of the Congress Square building. These promise to be a couple of killer nights of head to head poetry competition, and it would be killer to see some old friends if they've got the means to stop by. Next week we head for San Antonio for another regional competition, and 2 weeks after that is a Dallas regional. I don't know if we've got alumni in Albuquerque too, but if we do, the National Poetry Slam will be held there in August. Feel free to drop me a line @ zschrotter@verizon.net. Love to y'all...

Hey ya'll, Kelsey here. It's been a while, I know. Life here is great. We are finally getting some beautiful summer days. Chicago really comes alive in the summer. Lots of fun concerts, street festivals, etc. It almost makes you forget the terrible winters....almost. :) I just finished playing the Rose in "Alice in Mazeland" with the Landscape Theatre Ensemble. We performed at the Morton Arboretum (a huge outdoor tree/plant museum). The children followed Alice on her adventure through hedge mazes and flower gardens, meeting a variety of characters along the way. They were able to play croquet with the Red Queen (the flamingo croquet mallots and hedgehog balls were hilarious) and have tea with the Mad Hatter. We had a huge turn out(I'm not used to seeing children in Chicago) and it was quite fun. I also just finished a commercial acting class, and my teacher says I'm ready to audition. I'm saving up for new headshots, and then I'll do an agency mailing. So, we'll see what happens. I am glad to hear everyone is doing so well. Congratulations Lorna, Zach, the Cisco Klan....and LK wherever you are. :) Miss you! Kelsey

Hi Lisa. I don't remember Nate, but I think I had his sister as a student. Sounds like you folks are having fun up there. Now AMDA: Is that a subsudiary of NAMBLA? Just Kidding. Hope all is well with you and yours. Billy

Anybody remember/know Nate Lindquist? He just performed in the Battery Park River to River Festival performance of Jane Comfort's piece "Public Domain" with me. There we 40 extras cast in addition to our dance company. Nate was cast as a soccer player/dancer/actor. He is currently a student at AMDA. We had a great time rehearsing and performing in the park.

~Hey Billy...We are in Aaaarrrruuubbbbaaaa today! I think that hangin' lights on this ship could possibly be an Olympic sport!! We'll see once hurricane season gets to us!! I will most certainly send postcards! Maybe even a voodoo doll from Barbados! So far I have avoided the various kinds of flu, colds, and stomach bugs that are going around the ship. I eat mostly fresh veggies and fruit and I drink mostly beer so hopefully I can make it six months with no plague!I am glad to hear that your show is gonna be so good...I wish I could see it!! Take care...miss you guys lots!! Tootles!

Hi Lorna. Barbados? Isn't that where Tituba is from? And as far a Aruba, I think that is what Henry Ford fashioned his Model T Horn sound after. Hats off to you for doing such an exciting thing as to hang lights in swing land. Perhaps they should fashion an Olympic Sport around that. I am so excited about this show, TGSCBR. We counted the original songs and there are 14. But I think the real masterpiece is the song: "It ain't just a Toad, It's a Horny Toad". Of course I don't really believe that you have a tan, but if indeed that Montana Girl does have a tan, I expect you to post a picture on the blog as proof. Also, I was wondering: Do they let you hang a fishing pole of the back of the boat to troll for King Mackrel?
I also think you should send us a hard copy post card from your exotic places.
We love you. Watch out for those stomach things that go around on ships. You don't want alien popping out of your stomach. Much love. Billy

~Chow everyone!! I am writing to you today from the carribean ocean somewhere between Barbados and Aruba...and let me tell you...If you have ever had vertigo while working on the battens in a theatre try this one on... Moving ship, moving lights hung on swinging battens, swinging catwalks...Whew, the sea gets choppy and your done for!!! I love it!! My new job is fabulous! It has been exciting to visit all these exotic places and meet all kinds of new people. Out of 1000 crew, there are only 11 Americans working onboard. It has been awesome learning about all the various cultures and when you sit in the mess for any meal it is one big jumble of languages! And hey, for once in my life this Montana girl has a tan! Glad to hear that your show is going well Billy...Nate I can't wait to play dueling Mandolins with you!! Take care everyone!! Tootles!

Hi all! Dana a.k.a. FattyMcFattFatt here. It's been months since I've blogged, so I thought I'd better now that school's out. I was pretty much dying all semester, so I haven't even checked the blog in a long time. I was sick for about a month and a half with a massive kidney stone. It was way too big to pass (15mm) so I had to have this shock wave surgery to break it up. It was great fun. Anyway, it's pretty much all taken care of now, so I'm feeling great and able to dance again.
All this talk about the summer show in Cisco makes me so sad. I wish I was down there with all of you, especially since I heard that Nate is playing the mandolin. I was going to plan a trip with Emma to come see the show, but because of recent events, I'm not sure that will happen. And by recent events I mean... I'm engaged!!! I've known for a couple months, but the official proposal just happened on Sunday. The wedding date is August 5 and we'll have a reception that night in Idaho Falls and then one on the 6th in Pocatello (if any of you want to put that on your calendars now). His name is Bryan Atkins and he's from Pocatello. Billy, that name might sound familiar to you. He auditioned for you and you gave him a scholarship in 2000. Isn't that funny? Anyway, he's great. I'll post a picture of us on here soon. As soon as I can figure it out.
Well, I'm glad to hear that everything is going so well. Take care and keep me posted on the show.
Love and miss you all,
Dana
