Hi all, Dan here after a LONG semester. I have nothing to say really, so I'm just going to vent.
Thoughts on teaching:
Somehow, in the past five years public schools have stopped teaching students how to write. There, their, and they're still mean completely differnt things, and as far as I know, sentences are still supposed to have verbs AND subjects. So much for "higher education" (or maybe they all misinterpreted the "higher" part). Also, I'm thinking of stapling my syllabi to students' body parts. How can they all lose the most vital piece of paper involved in any course? If I hear another "What are we doing next week?" or "When is it due?" I'm going to use the wide-crown construction stapler and body parts containing important organs. (Not really folks, this is just a textual representation of my angst. If you're still reading, I apologize.)
Good news:
I get to design the lights for the Opera, "Cosi Van Tutte" next semester. Mozart, here I come.
PS - Billy, I'm glad you think of me as a grown up, but I'm just playing the part of one. It's the only acting I get to do anymore.
